The recent acquisition of DEIMOS by INDRA is booming our demand for Flight Dynamics System services.
Join us and become part of the adventure.
Be part of a new era in the space sector.
Traditional satellite operations are being transformed, with mega-constellations comprising hundreds to thousands of satellites being deployed around Earth, frequent launches becoming the norm, and new multi-satellite mission concepts enabled by cutting-edge electrically propelled spacecraft.
Moreover, the lunar industry is experiencing a dramatic rise, with the number of planned lunar missions for the 2030s growing rapidly. That is the reason because we are looking for a passionate Senior Flight Dynamics Engineer to contribute and lead our next generation of Flight Dynamics Services (FDS).
If you dream of spending your days exploring the Moon but prefer stable ground, your place is here with us!
We're expanding our Flight Dynamics team to tackle exciting ESA projects, and we want talented individuals like you to join our mission.
What's the Challenge?
You'll join our Mission Analysis Competence Centre, supporting the design of space missions from a mission engineering perspective for both ESA and commercial customers.
Your main tasks will include supporting operations and software maintenance of ESA flight dynamics systems for trajectory analysis and optimization, and AOCS command generation.
Your contributions will include:
1. Development and maintenance of our in-house Flight Dynamics System (FDS).
2. End-to-end development, validation, and use of high-fidelity FDS software for single satellite and constellation orbit propagation and manoeuvre simulation.
3. Designing, optimizing, and automating orbit manoeuvre strategies and algorithms for constellation deployment, station-keeping, replenishment, collision avoidance, and re-entry.
4. Developing Space Situation Awareness (SSA) and collision avoidance strategies.
5. Preparing technical documentation related to the FDS.
6. Supporting mission design for interplanetary and Earth Observation missions.
7. Modelling and simulation of space systems, including space environment and space vehicle dynamics.
8. Developing software tools to support mission analysis activities.
9. Promoting technology research, innovation, and development actions.
What do we need?
We're looking for aerospace engineering graduates with more than 3 years in the domains relevant to the post and a keen interest in flight dynamics.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
1. High knowledge of celestial mechanics and astrodynamics.
2. Trajectory optimization skills.
3. Proficiency in programming languages: C++, Python.
4. Experience with software engineering methods and techniques.
5. Familiarity with orbital analysis software or tools.
Additional valued skills include:
1. Experience in developing operational flight dynamics systems.
2. Background in control, telemetry, or related fields.
3. Knowledge of estimation theory and techniques.
