Job Overview:
As the Head of Tax, you will oversee various tax practice operations and provide high-caliber tax solutions to our Partners. Acting as a business adviser to our Partners, you will produce high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
* Partner Income Tax and Income Sourcing:
* Develop and implement income sourcing policies.
* Collaborate with external advisors on local developments and provide support during tax audits.
* Manage tax compliance for partners in various countries, including monitoring tax payments.
* Work closely with local teams.
* Manage the preparation of K-1 equivalents for US nationals.
* Coordination of Europe-Wide Tax Projects:
* Implement and oversee post-implementation of transfer pricing policies and documentation, including recharges of fees and costs across offices.
* Provide withholding tax support.
* Offer VAT support to local offices and assist with EDGE implementation.
* Ensure compliance with Mandatory Disclosure Rules.
* Address mobility issues.
* Tax Structuring:
* Handle tax structuring for growth and restructuring initiatives.
* Support local and European finance teams, including providing training.
* Tax Compliance and Planning:
* Oversee tax compliance for group entities.
* Engage in tax planning and tax risk mitigation.
* Partner Accounting:
* Maintain partner capital and current accounts.
* Monitor partner payments and collaborate with the Treasury team on cash flow planning.
* Provide support to Management, the Europe Board, and the Europe Compensation Committee.
* Coordinate with the group consolidation team and external auditors.
Requirements:
* Approximately 10 years of professional experience, preferably within the professional services or legal industry.
* Expert-level understanding of relevant tax laws and regulations, with strong knowledge of accounting standards.
* Proven track record of handling tax issues in a European environment.
* Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting standards.
* Excellent communication skills, strong business relationship-building capabilities, and the ability to handle change with ease.
* Analytical thinking and the ability to navigate within a complex business environment.
