A leading and rapidly growing CDMO located in Barcelona is seeking a Senior Scientist – Physico-Chemistry to join their expanding Analytical Development team. This organization is at the forefront of biologics and gene therapy, offering end-to-end development services across a variety of innovative therapeutic platforms.
About the Role
In this role, you will lead analytical method development within the physicochemical domain, focused primarily on HPLC and capillary electrophoresis. You will be instrumental in supporting gene therapy projects (mRNA, pDNA) and biological product development through a cross-functional, dynamic, and highly collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and lead analytical methods for protein characterization using physicochemical techniques (HPLC, CE, etc.)
* Author technical reports, qualification protocols, and validation documentation
* Participate in gene therapy projects with a focus on analytical contributions
* Train, supervise, and support scientists within the lab
* Perform hands-on analysis and support troubleshooting
* Collaborate with other departments to align analytical activities with project goals
* Contribute to lab management, equipment maintenance, and process optimization
What We’re Looking For
* Degree in Biomedical Sciences and MSc in Analytical Chemistry
* 5+ years of relevant industry experience in method development for protein characterization
* Strong hands-on experience with chromatography techniques (RP-HPLC, SEC, IEX, Affinity, CE-SDS, cIEF, CZE)
* Familiarity with mass spectrometry techniques (intact mass, peptide mapping) is a plus
* Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
* Fluent in Spanish and English
