Operations Manager at a transport company. The person to hold this position will directly manage a team of two traffic planners and a mechanic, and indirectly supervise a team of between 13-15 drivers.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Dealing daily with traffic planners to understand the day-to-day activity and provide support if any incident occurs.
2. Analyze with our maintenance staff and external workshops any breakdown and repairs required and its impact on the workflow and committed orders.
3. Monthly analysis of fuel consumption and issuing of corresponding report to Management.
4. Follow up on a monthly basis of truck utilization through tacho data, as well as analysis of drivers’ working time in order to grant time off when needed.
5. Weekly review of rates applied to undertaken services as well as accurate registration of extra costs incurred and notified to our customers.
6. Daily update of lifts in/out of our tanks in our own ERP and lifter log.
7. Approval of invoices related to cost areas under her/his responsibility: subcontractors, depots, etc.
8. Replacement of traffic planners during holidays, days off, etc.
9. Support to traffic planners on different topics - transport regulation, driving time, H&S, etc.
10. Follow up and update of CAE platforms - CTAIMA and similar - together with our admin department.
11. Review of claims raised by customers.
12. Follow up of drivers’ performance through our fleet management system and reporting key data to calculate corresponding bonus.
13. Different tasks related to H&S.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Prior experience in transport companies managing her/his own team.
2. Deep knowledge of transport of hazardous cargo.
3. Experience in companies with a QSHE management system implemented, particularly with H&S topics - PPEs, training, CAE, etc.
4. Intermediate level of English, both written and spoken. Fluent in English will be an advantage.
5. Prior experience with tank containers or road barrels will be highly valued.
