The opportunity or About Project
The Alkimos SeaWater Alliance project will deliver WA's next major water source - a new seawater desalination plant at Alkimos. At completion of stage 1, the plant will supply up to 50 billion litres of clean, safe drinking water to millions of Western Australians each year.
Reporting into the Cost Manager, you will be responsible for exercising proper financial control across the project, including cost control, forecasting, project reporting, and claims management.
Key accountabilities for the position:
* Develop, implement, and install the job pack systems.
* Development and maintenance of cost control procedures for the project.
* Provision of guidance and support to the QS commercial teams; including reporting structures and requirements, forecasting, timetable guidance, and transparency (especially variations and contingency).
* Manage the month-end reporting process, ensuring all reconciliations and supporting work-papers are prepared.
* Forecast cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and available funds for investment.
Required Skills and Competencies
* Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.
* Completed a postgraduate accounting qualification – CPA or CA.
* Practical experience with using and maintaining finance systems.
* Strong to advanced Excel skills.
* Good understanding of Australian Accounting Standards.
