About the role:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Release/Delivery Manager to oversee and optimize our release and delivery processes. This non-technical role will focus on improving DevOps processes, managing releases, and ensuring seamless communication between the development team, stakeholders, and other teams.
The ideal candidate will proactively align team priorities, remove blockers, manage dependencies, and ensure the smooth delivery of projects. This role also includes managing Change Requests (CRs) in ServiceNow (or similar tools) and continuously identifying opportunities for process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
• Release Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee releases, ensuring timely delivery with minimal disruptions.
- Communicate release schedules, risks, and impacts to stakeholders, ensuring alignment across teams.
- Collaborate with the development team, QA, and operations to manage dependencies and resolve conflicts.
• Delivery Coordination:
- Monitor and track development progress, ensuring all deliverables align with timelines, priorities, and quality expectations.
- Maintain visibility on all tasks and initiatives in the development pipeline, ensuring alignment with other teams' priorities.
- Act as the single point of contact for release and delivery-related updates and blockers.
• Dependency Management & Blocker Resolution:
- Identify, track, and manage interdependencies between teams to ensure smooth delivery of projects.
- Proactively identify and remove blockers, escalating issues when necessary to ensure timely resolutions.
- Facilitate cross-team communication to resolve conflicts and maintain alignment on goals and deliverables.
• Process Improvement:
- Identify gaps in current DevOps and delivery processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency.
- Standardize release and delivery workflows and create documentation to support consistent execution.
• Change Request Management:
- Create and manage Change Requests (CRs) in ServiceNow or equivalent tools, ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained.
- Track and follow up on CRs to ensure timely implementation.
• Stakeholder Communication:
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on delivery timelines, release readiness, and progress.
- Proactively manage risks, issues, and delays, ensuring transparency and alignment across teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Proven experience in release management, delivery coordination, or program management, ideally in a DevOps-driven environment.
* Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to track multiple tasks, dependencies, and priorities simultaneously.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to align priorities and resolve conflicts effectively.
* Familiarity with tools such as ServiceNow, JIRA, or similar project management and change management platforms.
* Proactive problem-solving mindset with a focus on removing blockers and delivering outcomes efficiently.
* Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including development, QA, operations, and external teams.
