Job Description: We are seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer with proven expertise in designing, developing, and validating energy conversion systems. The successful candidate will lead high-impact projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help define innovative solutions within the industry.
Responsibilities
1. Design and development of power converters (DC-DC, AC-DC, inverters) and their associated control systems.
2. Component selection (power semiconductors, magnetics, capacitors, etc.) ensuring compatibility and performance.
3. Definition of technical requirements and product specifications in close collaboration with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams.
4. Implementation and validation of prototypes: supervising functional, thermal, and reliability testing, adjusting parameters, and ensuring compliance with standards.
5. Technical project leadership: estimating timelines, resources, and costs, and reporting on project progress.
6. Troubleshooting and optimization of existing designs to improve efficiency, cost, and performance.
7. Collaboration with clients and suppliers, ensuring both technical and economic feasibility of proposed solutions.
Requirements
1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
2. 5-7 years of experience in power electronics design, preferably in industrial or renewable energy environments.
3. Experience with advanced power semiconductor technologies (SiC, GaN).
4. Experience in high-density PCB design and specialized material selection.
5. Strong knowledge of power converter topologies (rectifiers, inverters, switched-mode power supplies) and digital control systems.
6. Proficiency with simulation tools (PSpice, LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar) for design validation.
7. Familiarity with standards and certifications (EMC, IEC, UL, CE, etc.).
8. Excellent communication abilities for cross-functional team interaction.
9. Good level of English (B2-C1 minimum - internal communication is in English, and we have a lab in Newark, New Jersey, USA).
10. Knowledge of thermal design, reliability analysis, and thermodynamics is a plus.
11. Programming skills in C, C++, Python, and familiarity with DSPs or FPGAs is a plus.
12. Project management experience (Agile/Scrum methodologies) is a plus.
