CIC energiGUNE is a research center specialized in energy, electrochemical storage (batteries and supercapacitors), thermal energy solutions, and hydrogen. It is a member of the Basque Research and Technology Alliance (BRTA) and a strategic initiative of the Basque Government. Established in 2011, CIC energiGUNE aims to generate excellent knowledge that is beneficial for the Basque business network, serving as a reference in knowledge transfer.
CIC energiGUNE has a dynamic research team of more than 100 researchers and is well-equipped with a wide range of up-to-date facilities available for all its researchers. The European Commission has recently awarded CIC energiGUNE with the 'HR Excellence in Research' recognition, reflecting its commitment to fair and transparent recruitment and appraisal procedures, and certifying a stimulating and favorable work environment for researchers.
CIC energiGUNE is seeking a Laboratory Technician to work in the processing and characterization of electrolytes and related materials. The candidate will prepare samples for high energy density lithium metal batteries and will characterize the synthesized materials using analytical instruments.
TECHNIQUES TO BE USED:
* Electrolyte/electrode preparation, cell integration, and component characterization.
* Structural and physicochemical characterization: nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman, ICP, X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, gel permeation chromatography (GPC), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
* Batteries characterization: Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), Cyclic voltammetry (CV), Galvanostatic cycling (GC).
We are offering a temporary contract with advantageous professional development opportunities and the possibility of renewal based on satisfactory job performance, continuing availability of funds, and ongoing operational needs.
* Flexible working hours promoting work-life balance and self-organization.
* On-site work model with the option to telework.
* Professional and personal development: opportunity to attend seminars, international conferences, training courses, etc.
* Integrated, enthusiastic, international, and multidisciplinary environment.
* A welcome program that offers help with finding accommodation and addresses other aspects to help you integrate into the local environment (such as free language courses and assistance with administrative procedures).
All applicants are invited to submit their application, including a detailed curriculum vitae along with a motivation letter at this website.
The selection process ends once the candidate is selected.
CIC energiGUNE is committed to affirmative action, equal opportunity, and the diversity of its workforce.
Minimum Requirements:
* Occupational training in fields related to chemistry, engineering, materials science, lab management, or similar.
* A degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or related fields is preferred but not required.
* A team player who can collaborate with other researchers.
* High motivation, proactivity, and autonomy.
* Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
Valued Experience:
* Standard operating procedures for polymer synthesis and characterization.
* Related laboratory experience (synthesis and/or characterization and analytical techniques).
* Experience in electrochemical characterization techniques (galvanostatic cycling, CV, impedance measurements, etc.).
