In this key role, the Assistant Controller will be responsible for guiding and supporting the daily activities of the accounting team, ensuring smooth and efficient hotel operations in compliance with the company policies & procedures. Working closely with the Finance Team to maintain accurate financial records, monitor internal controls, and support strategic financial planning to drive business success.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management: Supervise the preparation and recording of journal entries, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of all month-end tasks, and generate financial statements and reports in accordance with company policies and procedures.
2. Account Reconciliation: Assist in preparing month-end balance sheet account reconciliation and analysis.
3. Income Audit & Reporting: Oversee and ensure accuracy of all day-to-day transactions, including internal controls, credit card, and cash operations in compliance with company controls to safeguard hotel assets and operational integrity.
4. Procurement and Expense Management: Supervise the procurement and expenses necessary to ensure optimal & efficient operation.
5. Team Leadership & Development: Assist in the development and training of direct reports and cross-training of all team members to adhere to company policies and procedures.
6. Budget & Forecasting: Assist in the creation of Annual Operating Plan and Capex Budgets and monthly operating and capex forecasts.
7. Audit & Compliance: Participate and support audits providing necessary information, implementing agreed changes, and ensuring follow-up on audit action plans.
8. Technology Integration: Assist in the effective use and integration of hotel technology systems.

Requisitos:
1. Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field (minimum 4 years).
2. Experience in finance and accounting in the hospitality industry.
3. Strong understanding of financial reporting and internal controls.
4. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
5. Detail-oriented and analytical abilities.
6. Advanced in Microsoft Excel; experience with hospitality software (Opera, Micros, etc.) preferred.
7. Fluency in spoken and written English and Spanish is required.
