Job Description:
Role purpose: The Content and Charging team within Vodafone Group enables Vodafone customers to buy, manage and consume digital content on their phone, TV or broadband connection. The team develops and manages a global charging and provisioning platform and creates and manages strategic partnerships with world-class content providers. The role of the Local Product Manager (LPM) for Content and Charging products is to ensure the overall performance of their global product in their respective market. They will work with the Global Business Development Managers to contract and launch multimarket partners in their own market fitting with the local market priorities while maximizing overall benefit to Vodafone. They will identify the right local partners, agree and manage the right Content/CTB contracts. They will act as a key interface role into the Local Head of Product (or sub-team) in order to lead the overall integration, launch and ongoing management of their Global Product/s within their aligned market/s. They will also play a key role capturing local priorities and integration requirements to ensure the global product is relevant and functioning at a market level. They will need to balance multiple (potentially conflicting) priorities and stakeholders to ensure their product is locally relevant and successful.
The key responsibilities will include:
1. Working with Global Product and/or Business Development Managers through strategy, planning and agile development to input into key global product decisions where necessary on behalf of their respective market/s.
2. Define and implement partnership approach, commercial negotiation, performance KPIs, launch activities and go-to-market plan leveraging service opportunities and local market priorities.
3. Ensuring necessary integration, launch and go-to-market resources and budgets are planned and ring-fenced for their respective market and product e.g. local Marketing resources to ensure successful G2M support.
4. On-board global product and partners into market through 'go-to-OpCo' phase to ensure effective landing e.g. sourcing local funding, system integration, technology integration etc.
5. Oversee launch activities within local market for global product and partners e.g. marketing, sales enablement, local pricing etc.
6. Agree go-to-market support with local business areas to ensure resources will be allocated for a successful service launch and a healthy performance.
7. Manage in-life and end-of-life requirements for global products in market, notifying GPM of key product changes/recommendation. This could also include recommendations on sunsetting legacy local products when better global alternatives are available.
8. Track and then manage the local product targets for market share growth, product revenues, margin and customer service performance for their product. Drive continuous improvement in the performance of the core product across CX, profit and revenue improvement opportunities.
9. This role will report directly into Global Head of Product and have a dotted line into the Local Head of Products (or sub-team) to fulfil its responsibilities.
10. The role might flex across different products depending on what stage they’re at in their lifecycle and or be aligned to multiple countries depending on capacity and local maturity/demand etc.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
1. Close to local customer requirements and insights, able to identify and translate into global implications, working with global product and/or business development manager.
2. Able to negotiate and manage content and charge to bill contracts with partners. Able to co-ordinate with local legal, tax, privacy etc. teams.
3. Particular focus on influencing local marketing and technical teams. Able to build sustainable relationships to drive local integration.
4. Understands when to escalate risks to global product and/or business development manager.
5. Emphasis on strategy and commercials at a local level for their respective market. Sufficient knowledge to interact with local tech teams for local product integration.
6. Able to provide guidance and advice on the technology requirements, platforms, infrastructure and any other technical considerations.
7. Emphasis on resolving conflicting requirements within an OpCo to ensure their respective product gets the focus it needs.
