The Role:
We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Event Manager to join our team in Madrid, Spain. In this role, you will lead, manage, and execute various event platforms, including in-person, virtual, and hybrid events across Europe, specifically within the automotive industry. You will work with top-tier clients in a fast-paced environment, developing and leading high-profile client programs. You will drive the planning process, oversee the development and production of the event plan, and ensure the event scope is maintained.
A Day in The Life:
Event Management: Professional knowledge of event cycles and management of various workstreams, including but not limited to venue management, production coordination, hotel room blocks, vendor management, site inspections, creative design and implementation, and participant registration management.
Event Planning: Develop, manage, and implement the end-to-end event plan(s) and schedule(s).
Client Relations: Understand and address client requirements, building strong client relationships.
1. Serve as the primary contact for clients, and act as the spokesperson and representative for event projects with both internal and external stakeholders.
Collaboration: Work with internal and external teams to execute virtual, hybrid, and in-person event experiences for the target audience.
2. Support the development of event vision, design, and creativity with local, in-market knowledge of cultural nuances.
Program Leadership: Conceptualize and lead high-profile client programs, drive the planning process, and understand the event scope.
Budget Management: Lead and manage program(s) budgets, develop budget tracking tools, monitor budget spend (P&L reports), and adhere to all financial deadlines.
Team Leadership: Lead large-scale program(s), providing leadership and guidance to extended team members across various internal workstreams/functions.
Procurement Negotiations: Maintain and lead procurement negotiations with external service providers, including venues, hotels, AV/IT services, security, food & beverage/catering, furniture rentals, print & production, DMCs, etc.
Business Development: Cultivate upselling opportunities and support building the events business in Europe.
3. Maintain in-depth knowledge of clients’ businesses in Europe, support identifying new business opportunities within existing client business, and explore new opportunities.
Vendor Onboarding: Lead the onboarding of new Europe-based vendors.
Resource Management: Support resource allocation and delegation, direct and indirect project team management, and production planning.
Team Development: Guide team members in professional development and job performance and lead internal meetings while remaining the main point of contact for all event elements.
Project Management: Support internal cross-functional project status meetings, identify risks/opportunities, problem-solve, and troubleshoot to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.
Stakeholder Relationships: Build strong relationships with internal, external, and client stakeholders, using a consultative approach to optimize the quality of client deliverables.
4. Work with stakeholders in multiple markets, primarily with Bond Headquarters in Toronto, Canada, and client teams in Europe and the United States.
Industry Trends: Stay updated on trends, new technology, and clients’ businesses, and find new ways to innovate and lead in each European market we represent.
Are You The One?
5. At least 5 years of relevant, full-scope event management experience in progressively senior-level, project-based, client-focused environments in Europe.
6. Established connections within the events industry across Europe (primarily in Spain, DACH, France, Italy, and UK markets) to lead and manage the planning, coordination, and execution of high-profile automotive virtual, hybrid, in-person, or immersive events.
7. Able to work in different time zones, including weekends and holidays if required.
8. Ability to travel within Europe and the United Kingdom, and other global markets if required.
9. Authorization to work in the European Union is a must.
10. Excellent interpersonal, planning, organization, presentation, and professional communication skills in Spanish and English (both verbal and written); proficiency in other European languages (German, French, Italian) is an asset.
11. Marketing-oriented and client-centric with a strong business outlook.

13. Strong analytical, budget management, critical path management, and problem-solving abilities.
14. Proven track record of using innovation to deliver exceptional experiences and events that engage and captivate attendees – you have a passion for all types of events.
15. Ability to combine thought leadership with hands-on skills and a willingness to get the job done.
16. A post-secondary degree or diploma in Marketing, Events, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
17. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
