The ideal person should have experience and know what is required of an independent cook within a kitchen. He or she will be in charge of preparing lunches and dinners, monitoring the stock of products, and ensuring that their dishes are of the highest quality. A minimum of an Intermediate or Upper-intermediate (B1-B2) level of English is required.
Your main functions will be:
1. Experience in cooking and willingness to support the Chef and other colleagues in the kitchen.
2. Flexibility and ability to work under pressure at certain times.
3. Priority over quality in preparations and hygiene.
4. Oversee washing, cutting vegetables, cleaning, preparing snacks or dishes, and mise en place.
5. Assist the first chef or be responsible for their own section in the kitchen.
Requirements:
1. At least an Intermediate or Upper-intermediate (B1-B2) level of English.
2. Studies in Gastronomy.
3. Minimum 1 year of experience in the gastronomy sector.
What do you get?
1. Contract through Dutch collective agreement.
2. Salary from €13 to €15.50 gross per hour (+21 years old). From €2,140 to €2,550 gross per month. TIPS: €300 net.
3. Weekly salary payments.
4. Accommodation in shared housing organized by the hotel, restaurant, or establishment at a low cost, around €55 - €65 per week, always close to the workplace.
5. Minimum 2 meals included in your work hours.
6. Workweeks are an average of 35 to 60 hours (high season is always more than 40 hours per week).
7. The working schedule will be provided by the restaurant/hotel.
8. Subsidized Health Insurance organized for you by our partners at the reduced rate of €33.50 per week.
9. On the island, you can rent a bicycle relatively cheaply or the establishment can provide one.
10. Boat ticket: Paid by Job Adventure’s partners in the Netherlands.
11. Help and assistance in Spanish throughout the process: communication, interviews, and information.
12. A hostel night paid for in Groningen. The following day, our colleagues will assist you in managing your BSN number at the city hall.
