The Product Specialist - Manual & Robotic role is responsible for setting up, rolling out, and managing the business for the Joint Replacement division in the region of Spain. This individual will support agents and distributors in the sales of designated products, provide customer support, and work with regional franchise teams.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
* Sell and demonstrate product lines within the operating theatre and clinical environment.
* Serve as front-line clinical and technical support to surgeons and hospital staff before, during, and after surgical procedures.
* Train and guide surgeons and hospital staff in the use of Stryker's Mako robot, including set-up, breakdown, and related intra-operative activities to ensure precise and successful surgical outcomes.
* Use proprietary software to prepare pre-operative CT scans for assigned cases and assist surgeons in pre-operative implant planning, implant sizing, and positioning.
* Troubleshoot and solve technical issues related to the robot independently or field escalation matters appropriately.
* Partner with Field Service team effectively to ensure technical issues are resolved and maintenance is delivered.
* Build knowledge of Stryker implants and instrumentation and mastery of the robot and its different applications to become a trusted 'go-to' for all case coverage types (robotic and manual).
* Educate surgeons and staff on the clinical benefits of the robot and best practices with confidence, enthusiasm, and respect.
* Complete Mako 101 and 201 training for all robotic-assisted surgery applications and obtain certification for each application needed to perform independent case coverage.
* Develop ability to competently cover complex primary and revision hip and knee procedures.
* Provide customer service to existing customers while also acquiring new customers.
* Plan, execute, and monitor all measures necessary to guarantee achievement of regional sales budget, which includes:
o Monthly Sales action plans coordinated with primary product sales team
o Customer care for hospital administration with the goal of achieving qualitative and sales-oriented consultation
o Organization and conduction of training
o Identification of local KOLs, proposition of local action plans
o Coordination of the distribution and logistics of products with the support of the related manager
o Regular reporting to Sales Managers, of the development of sales, and adaptation to the circumstances of the market
To be successful in this role, you should have the following skills and qualifications:
* Academic degree within the field of biomedical engineering, medical technology, health sciences, sales, and/or marketing
* Fluency in Spanish and English is required - minimum C1 level
* At least 1 year of experience in a sales or marketing role in the medical field, ideally in Trauma/Orthopedic, as clinical support specialist, sales rep, application specialist, product specialist, Product Manager or similar
* Strong commercial attitude and capability to adapt quickly, excelling in every aspect of your role
* Experience in the operating room and working with indirect channels is ideal
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with all levels of a medical department, internal and external stakeholders
* A strong customer interaction experience is important, as you place the customer at the heart of everything you do
* Flexibility to travel within the territory of Spain, including overnight stays, with all expenses reimbursed
* Natural talent to understand and connect with others
* A valid driver's license
This role is based in Madrid and covers the Community of Madrid, Castilla La Mancha, and Canary Islands. The position requires 80% travel, and the company car, fuel card, and all services are provided.
