Tasks Role Overview As the SEO Manager, you will drive our digital strategy by optimising our online content, training our editorial team, and ensuring adherence to industry best practices. Your role will be pivotal in improving search rankings, increasing website traffic, and maintaining authority within the competitive landscape of online news. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute SEO strategies tailored to the news industry. Train writers and editorial staff on SEO best practices, including keyword research, E.E.A.T. compliance, and optimising headlines. Use tools like Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Trends, and Google Search Console to monitor performance and identify opportunities. Conduct content audits, refresh outdated articles, and optimise headlines and metadata. Build and maintain a comprehensive SEO playbook for continuity and scalability. Reinforce critical SEO pillars (technical, on page, and off page) to boost search engine authority. Collaborate with editorial teams to ensure stories are uploaded to the web and aligned with SEO goals. Prepare detailed performance reports and actionable recommendations for stakeholders. Requirements Qualifications and Requirements: Proven experience in SEO, specifically within the news or media industry. Proficient in Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Trends, and Google Search Console. Strong understanding of E.E.A.T. principles and their application to digital content. Track record of implementing successful SEO strategies that have significantly boosted search rankings and traffic. Experience in training and mentoring writers or editorial teams. Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and standard workflows for uploading and optimising articles. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Remote/Flexible with occasional office visits Costa del Sol. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of technical SEO, including mobile optimisation, site speed, and structured data. Experience with backlink strategies and outreach. Ability to create user friendly documentation and training materials.
