The MED Technical Sales department is the unit of the Vestas Technology (Frontend Engineering & Technology), accountable for understanding market technical and operational requirements, to unlock customer value through timely deployed value engineered solutions, leading the Technical Support to Sales & Construction teams in the Mediterranean markets, while securing Vestas quality and profitability of the region.
Responsibilities
1. Team, and take full accountability for the technical solution and define the best technical solution in collaboration with the rest of the functions, during sales and construction phase.
2. Effectively supervise the technical value engineering of customer projects and direct technical negotiations as an active member of the Spanish and Portuguese team.
3. Ensure timely responses to customer inquiries, prepare clarifications and deviations to tenders, as well as technical annexes and contract schedules during contract negotiations.
4. Network to build relationships with the key technical people in your customers' organization, promoting their requirements inside Vestas and ensuring they prefer to use Vestas.
5. Understand the market, customer business cases and sales' perspective in general; track local rules and legislation and participate in working groups where required to define the right set of market requirements.
Qualifications
1. Master's degree in Engineering field as Aeronautics, Electrical or Mechanical, combined with a Commercial/Business insight.
2. 3-5 years work experience in a technical role in the Wind Industry or Energy sector.
3. Previous experience in directing technical negotiations, especially in the wind energy sector.
4. More important than formal education is the willingness and motivation to learn. This is a role that requires technical, commercial, and policy knowledge.
5. Fluent in business English and Spanish is a must, both spoken and written.
6. Commercial insight well balanced with a technical mindset.
7. High degree of coordination.
8. Creativity in quality in all solutions.
9. Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express clearly in technical and non-technical terms.
