IT PROJECT MANAGER / JOB DESCRIPTION
Important note: The position requires residence in Gran Canaria (Canary Islands) or the possibility to move.
SUMMARY:
The IT Project Manager will lead and deliver strategic products that sit at the forefront of betting and gaming. In this highly visible role, the IT PM will be working with a team of smart, talented people and will challenge them to excel. The IT Project Manager will take responsibility for project delivery from concept to production. This is a fast-paced, challenging project management role, working closely in collaboration with the customer and various internal stakeholders. WHAT IS THE CHALLENGE WAITING FOR YOU?
1. Work together with the Stakeholders to plan and execute projects, ensuring that teams have appropriate product and technical specifications, direction, and resources to deliver products effectively.
2. Facilitate the definition of project missions, goals, tasks, and resource requirements; resolve or assist in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects or functional areas; develop methods to monitor project or area progress; and provide corrective supervision if necessary.
3. Lead the scrum team in using Agile methodology and scrum practices.
4. Run Scrum ceremonies (daily scrum, sprint planning, etc.) and manage scrum artifacts.
5. Coordinate and manage resources and project scope to ensure project goals (e.g., deadline, scope, and quality) are achieved.
6. Assist development teams by removing impediments and solving problems.
7. Manage project risks and dependencies to avoid delays and/or issues.
8. Manage projects in JIRA and Confluence; providing training to team members as needed.
9. Produce and update project and team performance reports.
10. Monitor and report on key Agile performance metrics to the management team.
11. Foster and model a collaborative team environment driven to build great software.
12. Work closely with the subject matter expert for understanding the system's functional and non-functional requirements.
13. Coach the team in self-organization and cross-functionality.
14. Supervise and guide the team to follow agile principles and processes established.
15. Provide a software development plan that meets the future needs of clients and markets.
16. Prepare, coordinate, and document releases.
17. Monitor and assess individual employees' performance.
18. Good understanding of the product to advise and assist on Product Backlog management.
19. Flexible to travel based on business needs.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
1. Minimum of 3 years of management/leadership experience in a software development organization with responsibility for numerous successful projects (delivered on time, meeting client requirements, with high team satisfaction).
2. Thorough understanding of the SDLC.
3. Experience in software development, including 3+ years Scrum Master experience.
4. Pro-active in developing and implementing strategies that significantly mitigate risk.
5. Knowledge of web/app frameworks, development tools, and APIs.
6. Strong leadership, project management skills, time management, and problem-solving skills.
7. Strong negotiation skills and an ability to communicate clearly at all organizational levels, as well as with third parties.
8. Capacity to learn and adapt fast to the industry.
9. Experience with Atlassian Jira / Confluence system.
10. Ability to keep current on developing technologies and potential impact on operations.
11. Full proficiency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to make oral presentations to various audiences including senior management, departments, and communities.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
2. PMP or Agile PM course/certificate/diploma (Beneficial).
