About the Team
The Globalization Platform team plays a pivotal role in ensuring Stripe products are accessible and user-friendly for customers worldwide. This team creates and maintains the infrastructure required to localize our products and services across languages and cultures.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop frontend components for internationalization, creating an intuitive user experience for localization workflows.
* Maintain and improve frontend libraries and components used for globalization efforts.
* Create frontend integration strategies, making it easier for other teams to incorporate localization features into their projects.
* Work with cross-functional teams to implement globalization best practices in frontend development.
* Participate in bug fixes and performance improvements for existing frontend systems related to localization and internationalization.
* Develop and maintain documentation for globalization tools and best practices.
* Contribute to code reviews and collaborate with team members to maintain high code quality standards.
Requirements
* Experience with modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular) and state management solutions.
* Familiarity with building and maintaining frontend components or libraries.
* Basic understanding of internationalization (i18n) and localization (l10n) concepts in frontend development.
* Experience with frontend build tools, module bundlers, and package managers.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug frontend issues.
* Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
* Exposure to full-stack development, particularly with Node.js or Ruby on Rails.
* Experience with TypeScript or other statically typed languages for frontend development.
* Familiarity with frontend performance optimization techniques.
* Basic understanding of web accessibility standards.
* Experience with automated testing for frontend applications.
* Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI / CD concepts.
