We're looking for a Digital Signal Processing Engineer for the Special Projects Unit
Our Technology
We are the world leader in Resilient Positioning, Navigation and Timing (R-PNT) solutions that improve the reliability, performance, and safety of critical applications, and high-risk operations, even in GPS/GNSS-denied environments. We provide virtually fail-safe GNSS and PNT solutions for military and commercial applications worldwide, and ultra-precise synchronization (sub-ns) and frequency distribution for applications requiring a high degree of reliability and precision through White Rabbit PTP.
In addition, Safran has great expertise in Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) through several projects in the framework of aerospace with ESA to provide deterministic communications with zero-packet loss. Overall, we deliver highly dependable solutions that always have high accuracy and robust timing at their core.
The Position: DSP Engineer for communication
What You Will Be Doing
As a DSP Engineer at our company, you will be responsible for designing and developing digital signal processing algorithms for wireless communication systems, with a focus on applications requiring high-precision timing and synchronization. You will work on the development of digital signal processing algorithms and simulate them using Python, to support a range of applications including timing and synchronization, wireless communication systems, and other related fields.
Main Responsibilities
1. Definition of DSP algorithms for wireless communications
2. General knowledge of Software Defined Radios (SDRs) and FPGAs architectures
3. Simulation of DSP algorithms in Python
4. Knowledge of different modulation schemes such as OOK, BPSK, QPSK, QAM, Spread Spectrum, etc.
Requirements
Must:
1. Strong background in digital signal processing (DSP) and wireless communication systems
2. Excellent programming skills in Python
3. Knowledge of SDRs and FPGAs architectures
Plus:
1. Experience with communication systems in high-Doppler environments (e.g. airborne, maritime, or high-speed terrestrial communications)
2. Knowledge of coherent receiver architectures and signal processing techniques
3. Experience with FPGA development using tools such as VHDL, Verilog, or HLS (High-Level Synthesis)
4. Knowledge of timing and synchronization technologies (e.g. IEEE 1588, GPSDO)
5. Familiarity with Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and their signal processing aspects
6. Programming skills in C or C++ for prototyping and development
7. Experience with Linux operating system.
