About the position :
Location : Cartagena, Spain
Salary : According to the candidate's experience.
Minimum experience : Minimum three years of experience.
Type of contract : Indefinite (probationary period of two months).
Working day : Full time, with attention to vessels in the port and performance of duties.
What you'll do :
* Provide excellent ship agency services to all clients.
* Planning and organization of the necessary documentation for the entry of the vessel, its commercial operation, and its subsequent departure.
* Making arrangements with the authorities and suppliers to ensure a smooth and quick turnaround of vessel at port.
* Use of existing official telematic applications for the management of port calls.
* Management of the information derived from the call for third parties and authorities.
* Attending and providing the best service to the vessel and its crew following the instructions of the ship-owners.
* Solving problems or incidents that may arise during the vessel's stay.
* Clearance of vessels.
* Boarding vessels when / where required.
* Performing watches, with the possibility of working outside the normal working day, depending on the operation of the vessel.
* Follow-up of and control of vessel port call cost.
* Comply with company Health, Safety, Security and Risk policies.
What are we looking for?
* Minimum studies : Higher level training cycle in international trade, transport and logistics or similar qualification.
* Desirable studies : Degree in nautical and maritime transport, degree in merchant navy or diploma in maritime navigation.
* Completion of postgraduate courses related to maritime transport management, such as Master in Maritime Transport, or possession of the most common maritime specialization certificates will be highly valued.
* Experience : Experience will be valued according to the number of years in which a position of similar characteristics has been held in a ship agency, requiring a minimum of three years (as ship agent / operator of vessel in the port of Cartagena or other port of general interest) to access the position.
* High level of accountability.
* Able to work as part of a team.
Complementary aspects :
* Commercial profile, with the ability to manage the vessel's call and the relationship with the client and third parties involved, beyond the technical execution of the operation.
* Excellent communication skills in both Spanish and English. A third language will be a plus.
* Driving B license.
* Availability to work irregular / flexible working hours.
