Overview: Program Manager Bachelor in Fashion Design
IE School of Architecture and Design is dedicated to education and research within the creative industries. Our programs are taught in English and combine a multidisciplinary approach with strong theoretical foundations as well as a design-driven learning approach. The 4-year Bachelor in Fashion Design provides a rigorous, innovative, and international training for a varied professional career in Fashion.
The Program Manager is responsible for daily operations and coordination of the Bachelor in Fashion Design. The position involves coordinating tasks among various team members and other IE Departments; overseeing the implementation of established academic guidelines and policies; monitoring logistics and operations; supporting faculty members, and ensuring a rigorous and organized student experience. The Program Manager will report to the Dean of the School, and director of the Program, and will work within the parameters of the School Dean’s office. This post will be in Segovia with weekly travel to Madrid.
Responsibilities:
Key Action Areas:
1. Program management:
o Coordinate and supervise the planning of schedules and liaise with the Planning Department for updates and modifications.
o Coordinate university-wide initiatives (honours programs, elections, online platform management, software update, etc).
o Liaise with facilities for class requirements and room booking.
o Provide data and information for quality-related reports and certifications.
o Assist the Dean, the Associate Director, and the Area Coordinators in the direction of the programs, as needed.
o Manage logistics for workshops and activities abroad, and availability to travel for field trips.
o Work with relevant team members to gather data and coordinate content for all regulatory reports and inspections.
2. Interaction with students and professors:
o Provide onboarding information for new full and adjunct faculty.
o Co-manage the relationship with class representatives.
o Identify ways to improve the student experience and implement proposed changes.
o Maintain and enhance academic guides and other materials for students and faculty.
3. Interaction with other departments:
o Coordinate key administrative processes with relevant departments and team members on exchanges, internships, final projects (PFG and PFC), credit recognitions, etc.
o Collaborate with the departments of Admissions, Marketing, Planning, Documentation, Student Services, Campus Life, Registrar’s Office, Maintenance, etc.
o Oversee the appropriate execution of the operational budget of the program.
4. Internal Development:
o Assist the Program Director and Deans’ Office in the coordination and implementation of new initiatives.
o Provide high-quality data and information to the Dean and track measurement of student performance and achievements.
o Work closely with program assistants to assure smooth teamwork, good communication, and effective teamwork.
o Take responsibility for special projects, as instructed by the Dean and the Associate Director.
Qualifications:
Requirements:
1. Master’s Degree from a top university.
2. Bilingual, or advanced proficiency, in English and Spanish (written and oral), with substantial professional experience in both languages.
3. Minimum of 3 years of professional experience, including supervisory functions.
4. At least 2 years of experience in higher education management.
5. Track record of customer interface and excellent organization skills.
6. Strong management capabilities.
7. Ability to work under pressure and high level of accountability.
8. Ability to create a sense of community among the team.
9. Experience in multi-stakeholder environments, as well as excellent communication skills and a strong customer-oriented profile.
10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
11. Curious, eager to learn and open-minded.
12. Strong desire to work in a multicultural environment.
