TITLE: Data Architect
Location: Valencia/ Santa Clarita, Ca – (Client is not open to relocation)

JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the IT Development Manager, designs, develops, implements, modifies, and supports database components for core business processes. Works from written specifications and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the position while maintaining technical documentation of process flow associated with their work.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Architect and design Data Architecture to ensure data is secure, reliable, scalable, and consistent between distributed systems.
2. Proficiency in SQL Server Management, and Stored Procedures (+5 years).
3. Monitoring & maintaining SQL Server Databases (+5 years) necessary.
4. Under general supervision implements all aspects of a database design – schema design, coding, security, encryption, state management, error logging, debugging, scalability, code reviews, development environment configuration, and testing.
5. Participates in every aspect of the development and implementation, working with project analysts to ensure full understanding of the change implications to business processes.
6. Confirms application meets specifications through objective review process.
7. Ensures the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
8. Identifies bottlenecks and bugs, logs issues and recommends solutions to identified issues.
9. Helps maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
10. Performs unit and system level testing on applications.
11. Develops data migration and integration processes to legacy systems using identified development tools and technologies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
1. Five to seven (5-7) years relevant programming experience, undergraduate degree in computer science, business or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Utilizes established development tools, guidelines and conventions including but not limited to SQL Server.
3. Data Security knowledge pertaining to PII, PCI, and HIPAA.
4. Experience with Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL) tools such as SSIS or Apache Airflow.
5. Familiarity with SSRS, ASP.NET, HTML, & CSS related to reporting.
6. Preferred knowledge with Salesforce Objects integration.
7. Enhances existing systems by analyzing business objectives, preparing an action plan and identifying areas for modification and improvement.
8. Investigates and develops skills in new technologies.
9. Creates technical specifications and test plans.
10. Understanding of troubleshooting techniques.
11. Domain driven design preferred.
12. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git, GitHub, SVN, other tools for Agile SCRUM Sprint scheduling and issue tracking such as Atlassian JIRA and Confluence.
13. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
