EU Business Development Manager (Good Experimental Practices) - Crop Sciences

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Business Development of Crop Sciences GEP Activities in Europe
* Sales and Customer Contract development
* Key Account Management as required
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
* Leading Sales and Development Activity:
o Identifying existing and future market activities.
o Identify and approach all sector customers and potential customers.
o Leading European GEP business focus.
o Attend industry events to promote the services of SGS.
o Actively promote the image, capability, and integrity of the company to the Product-line Customers.
o Work with NR Marketing Manager to produce publicity materials and to use global media tools to distribute regular internal and external news.
o Search for additional opportunities and offer new and increased services to existing/new clients.
o Key objective: To find new business and increase our revenue activity for this sector.
* Business and Service Development:
o Continually strive to find new and improve ways of delivering service to the Regional Customer base.
o Project manage new and existing clients that require improved or customized services.
o Work closely with Crop Science Country Business Managers to provide consistent delivery of services across the product lines and regions.
o Collaborate with International Sales / Business Development Managers to provide one Customer facing Global Team approaching the markets.
o Identify geographic services gaps and work with Global and Regional Management teams to find new opportunities and implement the full Portfolio Regionally for GEP, including possible acquisitions.
o Investigate, promote, and help implement new service innovations.
o Help to develop regional strategy and Business Development Programs.
* Work closely with Study Directors, Technical Governance, and NR Country Business Managers to identify training and operational improvement opportunities in all countries of operation.
* Help all to work continually on best service solutions to clients (voice of customer supporting).
* Provide Key Account Management to designated customers who require specific management:
o Act as one window/or key point contact for the client, when required.
o Provide customized service proposals (with Team Support) as may be required.
o Troubleshooter/problem solver.
o Standardize commercial approach to Regional Key Accounts.
o Fast Reaction/Availability.
o Statistical data/evaluation of results/ability to present facts to key accounts.
o Voice of the client in SGS.
* Other Activities:
o Other projects that may be decided from time to time by the Vice President – NR Agri Commodities/Crop Sciences.
PROFILE
* More than 10 years’ experience in Crop Sciences / Consultancy / TIC Industry Commercial Roles.
* Educated to Degree, Master Level.
* Proven track record on commercial and sales development.
* High reputation as a collaborator with Senior Industry Players.
* Knowledge of GLP Crop Sciences Operations and Testing Requirements.
* Leader and People Manager.
REQUIRED SKILLS
* Strong Leadership and interpersonal skills required.
* High Level English Language required. French, German or Spanish highly beneficial.
* Ability to work in a demanding high-stress environment.
* Ability to inspire people Internal and External to SGS.
* Ability to make long-term business relationships.
