CCC is currently looking for a Database Administrator. You will be working with a global team on various relational database technologies, such as Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, as well as NoSQL technologies like DynamoDB and MongoDB. This position requires a blend of technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
What you will be doing:
* Provide the first level database administration support of production and non-production databases used for customer-facing and in-house applications.
* Respond and resolve database-related tasks and alerts. Update clients and management on the status of requests.
* Monitor all production and non-production database environments daily, including database health, performance, backups, jobs, storage, etc. Resolve or escalate issues accordingly.
* Participate in release meetings and execute database-related deployments.
* Work closely with the Sr. Database Administrator to implement complex database projects and conduct R&D research on advanced database technologies.
* Review and create database-related documents, sharing knowledge with the DBA team.
* Participate in on-call duties during non-business hours on a rotational basis.
Skills you should have:
* Minimum of three to five years of database administration experience with commercial database engines such as Oracle and MS SQL Server and/or open-source SQL database engines such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
* Knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics.
* Experience working with Linux.
* Proficient with shell scripting and automation.
* Proven track record of troubleshooting and resolving database problems.
* Skilled in performance tuning and optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
* Proficient with database backup, restore, and recovery.
* Knowledge of database High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options.
* Strong organization, verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on documentation of policies and procedures, project plans, and incident reports.
* Experience administering databases in the cloud (Amazon EC2 or Microsoft Azure) or “database as a service” (Amazon RDS/SimpleDB/DynamoDB or Microsoft SQL Azure) is a plus.
