Overview
Position Summary
The IT Security Analyst will be the primary resource for day-to-day security operations within the organization. This position will also assist with other security related projects or programs and be called on to assist with other IT related duties.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Responds to, reviews, and resolves or escalates security events.
* Assists with the planning and execution of the Security Awareness Training program.
* Assists with the authoring and revision of Information Security Policies and related documents (e.g., standards, processes, procedures, guidelines, etc.).
* Assists with other information security related projects and programs as needed.
* Serves as backup to certain roles when growing demands arise.
* May require after hours work in response to security events or other security related projects.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information systems, or other related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or Security+ are desirable.
* At least three years' experience in at least three of the following domains: IT security, compliance and risk management, OS Architecture and Support, incident handling, security auditing, security awareness education, intrusion detection and response, vulnerability management.
* Thorough understanding of Information Security principles, frameworks, as well as industry standards & practices such as CIS and SOGP. Understanding confidentiality, integrity, and availability is essential. Experience with SOX, JSOX, ISO 27001, CTPAT, TISAX, or NIST is a plus.
* Understanding of how to detect, contain, and resolve security events.
* Experience with security tools such as SIEM, firewall, EDR, EPP, NDR, vulnerability management, Secure email gateway, and DNS filtering. Experience with Cisco security suites, Splunk, Palo Alto, Fortigate, and Rapid 7 is a plus.
* Ability to secure and respond to threats in a multi-cloud environment.
* Strong understanding of Microsoft operating systems, Linux operating systems, Microsoft Azure, Google Computing Platform, and mobile devices. Experience with application security is a plus.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively.
* Demonstrated commitment to protecting IT assets from cyberattack through education, work experience, internship or equivalent.
* Ability to drive long distances and/or travel overnight as required.
* Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
* Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 35 lbs.
* Ability to work in cold/hot/dusty/loud environments.
* Ability to receive and understand direction from supervision and management.
Essential Job Functions
* Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
* Work overtime as required/assigned.
* Travel overnight as required.
* Work cooperatively with others.
* Interact with employees and customers in an appropriate manner.
* Use a computer for tasks such as communicating via email and preparing reports and work schedules using Office 365, ServiceNow, PowerBi or other tools.
* Review and analyze data and information concerning security events, compliance and auditing reports, and security initiatives. Participate in and supply inputs to these activities.
* Plan, prioritize and monitor information security tasks.
* Complete assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner.
* Ability to work shifts of at least eight hours, and occasionally longer, five days per week.
* Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
