General Description
Atradius provides tailor-made worldwide credit management solutions, to companies of all sizes. We supply high quality and timely information and credit risk coverage and are therefore physically present globally.
The ITS Controlling team, a team of 6 sitting across Madrid, Cardiff and Amsterdam, is responsible for ensuring the correct accounting and control of all IT planning and budgeting and expenses to ensure the financial management of the IT unit is aligned to meet business outcomes and targets.
We require an excellent team player who is able to build and maintain first-rate working relationships with all major stakeholders within the multi-location environment in functions. This post requires a high level and breadth of understanding and experience in financial control within large multinational IT organisation, and the ability to work with stakeholders on Group level e.g. Group Finance-, and Group Control functions (Madrid).
The successful applicant for this Controlling position will be interested in change - and process management, TPCA and includes coaching/supervision of the junior Controller(s).
Job description
The main areas of responsibility for the senior controller are:
1. Responsible for financial matters related to the planning & control cycle including budget, forecast and long term plan
2. Identify and understand operations and activities and translate these into financial control objectives.
3. Work closely with the Management Team (MT) to support budgeting and controlling activities
4. Work closely with the MT to monitor and steer the budget utilization and status, helping and ensure that every year the unit is on budget
5. Proactively handle issues. Prioritize and make decisions as necessary to authorize and facilitate daily operations.
6. Manage knowledge and techniques in order to issue reports to provide managers and other key stakeholders with clear, accurate and timely information and reports facilitating the daily operations within the organization.
7. Manage month-end closing processes responsible for accurately recording of expenditures, assets, liabilities, Cash, accruals, prepayments and capitalization of internally developed software
8. Responsible for the correct transfer pricing and cost allocation process of costs
9. Apply best practice control and accounting rules and principles and advise on other's use of these. Provide appropriate responses to and act upon queries. IFRS knowledge is a pré
10. Give advice and guidance on technical controlling and accounting issues and working practices. Be a major contributor to Control targets, initiatives, education and coaching. Use and promote best practice in Controlling. Share information for the success & development of colleagues and the business.
11. Act as focal point of contact for stakeholders in financial matters, liaise with Local Finance, Group Control and Group Finance as necessary
12. Ensure clear, accurate and timely reporting towards Unit Management, Central Group Functions, and external stakeholders according to the different needs
Requirements
13. University thinking and working level – University degree is required
14. Education and proven track-record in financial controlling, preferably in multinational unit, including an appropriate accounting qualification.
15. Specialist knowledge of Controlling and accounting techniques for reporting, governance and transfer pricing purposes and specialist knowledge of the Purchase 2 Pay purchasing application system (flow of invoices, contract and asset management) is preferred.

18. Ability to work within and communicate with multinational teams is essential (hands on mentality) as well as, 'can-do' mentality under the pressure to tight deadlines.

21. Advanced user of MS Excel, databases, Power Queries, Power BI and dashboard tools and a good understanding of Business Objects. VBA is a pre.
22. Fluency in English is required, verbally and written.
23. Dutch and Spanish language will be positively considered as an interesting bonus
