Bertrandt is currently seeking a detail-oriented Export Control Officer to strengthen our team. As an Export Control Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with stringent international export regulations and company policies concerning the export of aerospace, defense or dual-use products, technology, and services. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, outstanding communication skills, and an in-depth understanding of export control laws and regulations within the aerospace and / or defense sectors.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Develop and implement comprehensive export control procedures and policies tailored to the aerospace and defense sectors, in strict adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
2. Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure robust compliance with aerospace / defense-specific export control requirements.
3. Evaluate and classify aerospace products, technology, and services to ascertain export control jurisdiction and classification accurately.
4. Inspect aerospace / defense export transactions and documentation meticulously for accuracy and compliance with stringent export regulations.
5. Provide expert guidance and tailored training to internal stakeholders on aerospace / defense-specific export control regulations and requirements.
6. Act as the primary point of contact for government agencies and external partners on aerospace / defense export control matters, fostering strong relationships.
7. Collaborate closely with cross-functional aerospace teams to address and resolve export compliance issues proactively, mitigating associated risks effectively.
8. Manage aerospace / defense-related licenses, permits, and authorizations required for international shipments, ensuring timely processing and adherence.
9. Investigate and report any potential aerospace / defense export control violations promptly, implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain compliance.
What you bring along :
1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Law, International Trade, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in aerospace export compliance, preferably within the aerospace industry.
3. Deep knowledge of international aerospace / defense trade regulations, including ITAR, EAR, and other relevant aerospace / defense-specific regulations.
4. Proven track record in conducting meticulous aerospace / defense export compliance audits and assessments.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adept at confidently engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
6. Fluency in both English and Spanish.
