Your role and responsibilities
In this role, the Field Service Engineer will have the opportunity to work in an international environment, traveling within Europe or around the world for various service jobs for approximately 80% of the working time (up to 200 days per year). Therefore, we are looking for candidates who are ready and willing to travel, who possess a strong Field Service mindset and are open to challenges.
Main responsibilities:
1. Carrying out mechanical jobs on board vessels working with 2-stroke engines of Wärtsilä/Sulzer/WinGD brand.
2. Occasionally carrying out supervisory or troubleshooting activities on those 2-stroke main engines with support from Technical Service teams.
3. Performing Field Service activities related to the installation of Wärtsilä Service Products (modernisation, retrofit packages) elaborated for 2-stroke diesel engines in service.
4. Performing mainly mechanical but also electrical and automation-related works both on engines and during installations of Wärtsilä Service Products.
5. Upon request, performing technical assessments of the installations, carrying out pre-inspections and final commissioning of the installed products, in accordance with Wärtsilä guidelines and technical, safety, and quality procedures.
6. On-site cooperation with teammates and stakeholders (yards, crews) managing service activities during work execution.
7. Ensuring customer satisfaction through positive interactions with customers and efficient collaboration with different teams during service works on site.
