YOUR JOB
You will be responsible for managing the IOH Life and Protection team, supported by two supervisors – you can expect to have circa 25 FTE, spread over Antwerp and Nairobi. Your role will expand beyond day-to-day management of the operation – your agile, customer-centric mindset will ensure that you contribute to our overall operations strategy. With the experience and knowledge you bring from other roles you’ve occupied in this area, you will help further shape the department. You will work on a project to optimize tooling – assessing and leveraging best tools suited for the department’s needs. You’ll work with the commercial teams to identify the best product offering and then implement them operationally. You’ll continue the work on the people strategy, ensuring that we’ve got the right talent in the right roles to support the strategic direction.
This role reports into the COO for International Organizations Health.
YOUR JOB IN DETAIL
* Deliver the day-to-day business unit management for IOH Life & Protection Solutions.
* Work collaboratively with the other Heads of Departments and wider stakeholder networks across IOH.
* Ensure the team members have the tools to perform according to the targets and to set them up for future success.
* Lead the project (as business owner) to optimize the LPS tooling and processes.
* Manage effective capacity plans, keeping oversight of staff level requirements. Proactively address and escalate any risks.
* Develop/maintain proactive business relationships, both internally and externally to ensure a seamless delivery of service.
* Have a close collaboration with the Finance (Actuarial) teams to have correct risk assessment and reserve setting.
* Interact with senior management to adapt your processes to meet evolving objectives.
YOUR PROFILE
* Minimum of three years’ experience in the Insurance sector (Life & Disability benefits).
* Proven track record as a strong people manager preferably in an international context.
* Strategically oriented with a focus on execution and delivery.
* Experience managing multiple stakeholder groups.
* Able to demonstrate customer impact.
* Results driven and able to motivate leaders.
* Active language knowledge of at least English (additional languages are a plus).
* Experience in coaching, managing, developing and motivating individuals.
* Proven data analytics skills (advanced Excel, Qlikview, Tableau ...).
* Clear experience in driving a team to achieve excellent customer service results.
* Experience of leading and implementing change.
* Good understanding of technology landscape in the insurance industry and how to adopt the technology to best serve a specific purpose.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
