Funciones:
The Oncogenes and Effector Target (OnTarget) group is looking for a lab technician to participate in academic and industry-funded research projects. The person to join will join a dynamic team to actively participate, in collaboration with other team members, in the preclinical testing and cellular/molecular characterization of new drug combinations to treat mutant KRAS driven cancers.
The project will provide opportunities for interaction with other groups (internally, nationally and internationally) as well as industry partners.
His/her work will contribute to the current research lines of the project aimed to understand the underlying mechanisms involved in mutant KRAS-driven oncogenesis around two unresolved aspects of KRAS biology: 1) the identification of key transcriptional and functional mediators of cancer initiation and progression, and 2) the discovery of novel therapeutic approaches and the characterization of resistance mechanisms.
The candidate will be primarily focused on the correct development of the projects assigned to him/her, by doing mouse work, as well as applying molecular biology/biochemical techniques and cell culture assays. The candidate must be willing to carry out independent but directed research, taking responsibility for the development of defined projects. His/her functions may include training work for undergraduate, master's or predoctoral students.
As part of his/her duties, the candidate will be involved in technical laboratory organization tasks (management of mouse colonies, management of orders, stocks and equipment, ...) collaborating with a larger team.
Requisitos:
- Degree in biology, biochemistry, pharmacy or similar (e.g. life sciences) or a master's degree.
- Ability to work both in a team and independently.
- Knowledge of English language to effectively communicate with other team members and collaborators, and to read the scientific literature and experimental protocols.
- Hands-on research experience will be highly valued, preferably in animal management, molecular biology, cell culture and flow cytometry. Background in areas related to cancer biology or immunotherapy will be valued positively.
- Previous training in research groups will also be highly valued.

Interested applicants should register through the application, including a cover letter describing past experience and interests. This is a three-year project-funded position which will be renewed annually upon satisfactory performance. The start date is April 1, 2025, and applications will be considered until February 28th, 2025 (or until the position is filled).
