Our firm is seeking an experienced and skilled Chief Accountant to oversee our growing accounting operations. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership abilities and expertise in various corporate and personal accounting practices. Responsibilities : Manage the accounting team and provide guidance on best practices. Ensure the team stays up to date with the latest accounting standards and techniques through ongoing training and education. Coordinate tax interviews with clients and collect necessary documents to facilitate accurate financial reporting. Review and verify corporate and personal income tax returns for accuracy and completeness. Advise business owners and individuals on tax related matters, including code interpretations and compliance. Nurture and build strong relationships with clients through effective communication and customer service. Monitor and mentor junior staff members, providing feedback and support to help them grow professionally. Identify and address potential compliance issues proactively to ensure the firm''s reputation remains unblemished. Maintain strict adherence to all national laws and regulations governing the firm''s activities. Establish and maintain open lines of communication with government agencies and clients to ensure seamless collaboration and problem solving. Develop and implement efficient tax consults and onboarding procedures for new clients. Maintain highly organized and updated client files, ensuring easy access to relevant information. Collaborate with other teams to achieve shared goals and objectives, promoting a culture of teamwork and mutual respect. Report directly to the Executive Vice President / Chief Finance Officer, serving as a key advisor and strategic partner. Chief Accountant Requirements and Qualifications Bachelor''s degree in Accounting or a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in good standing. Quickbooks ProAdvisor certification is required. Minimum 5 years of management experience. Minimum 5 years of experience as a CPA in a corporate setting. Substantial experience in corporate and personal taxation. Exceptional computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and databases. Expertise in Quickbooks and financial statement analysis. Attention to detail, combined with excellent organizational and time management skills. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Able to thrive in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines consistently.
