We are a small, collaborative, international team, handling a large volume of high-quality research, review and opinion submissions to drive thought leadership across all medical specialties. We build solid relationships with research communities to ensure we offer exciting, interesting, and thought-provoking content.
About the Role
As an In-House Senior Editor, you will oversee the creation and publication of original content. You will take ownership for overseeing submissions and quality peer reviews to ensure we publish high-quality content. You will build global relationships with people and institutes in the medical and research fields.
Responsibilities
* Arranging peer review and commissioning content;
* Scanning medical literature and news to keep up-to-date with developments;
* Attending conferences and academic meetings, along with laboratory and institutional visits;
* Writing editorials, commissioning reviews and commentaries, and publishing correspondence to build the journal’s profile among the communities we serve;
* Subediting material from all sections of our journal to improve clarity of expression and to conform to journal style;
* Suggesting and helping to develop new initiatives for future developments and enhancements to our journal.
Requirements
* Have a Medical degree with clinical experience or PhD in a related field with postdoctoral experience;
* Demonstrate great knowledge of biological and medical sciences;
* Have an exceptional command of the English language and the ability to write in an engaging and interesting manner;
* Be able to communicate and negotiate constructively with members of the medical profession, the media, and colleagues;
* Have proficiency with IT systems including MS Office;
* Enjoy collaborating with teams to deliver successful projects and initiatives on-time;
* Have a natural ability to engage, influence, and build relationships with stakeholders, teams, and our community;
* Be able to travel internationally for meetings and conferences.
