About the Role:
We are recruiting on behalf of a top-tier asset management firm seeking a highly skilled Credit Analyst at the Senior Associate level to join their Madrid-based team. The role focuses on High-Yield Loans within an institutional client portfolio, offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a Credit Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth credit analysis, monitoring the performance of HY loan portfolios, and contributing to investment decisions for institutional clients. Candidates must bring strong expertise in leveraged finance, gained through experience in investment banking or credit rating agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Credit Analysis: Conduct detailed credit assessments of institutional HY loan portfolios, including financial modeling, covenant analysis, and risk identification. Portfolio Management: Monitor and report on the performance of assigned loan portfolios, identifying early warning signals and recommending appropriate actions. Investment Recommendations: Provide insightful and well-supported investment recommendations to senior management and portfolio managers. Market Research: Stay updated on market trends, sector developments, and regulatory changes impacting HY loans and leveraged finance. Client Engagement: Collaborate with institutional clients to understand their investment objectives and align analysis and reporting accordingly. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including portfolio managers, risk teams, and external stakeholders, to ensure optimal credit decision-making.
Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. CFA designation is a plus. Professional Experience:3-7 years of experience in leveraged finance roles within investment banking, or a background in credit analysis at a leading credit rating agency. Demonstrable expertise in analyzing and underwriting HY loans. Technical Skills:Strong proficiency in financial modeling and credit risk assessment. In-depth understanding of HY loans, covenant structures, and leveraged finance markets. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to synthesize complex financial data and provide actionable insights. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English required; Spanish proficiency is highly desirable. Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
