A leading company in the Chemical industry is seeking a dynamic and experienced CEO / Managing Director to drive operational transformation, optimize plant performance, and lead the business through a critical growth phase. Role Summary :
The CEO / Managing Director will oversee all business operations, strategy, and financial performance while leading the company’s transformation efforts. The successful candidate will spearhead initiatives to increase plant operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Strategic Leadership :
Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to optimize operational efficiency and achieve sustained growth.
2. Oversee the expansion and commissioning of a new plant while ensuring high performance across existing facilities.
3. Operational Optimization :
Implement Lean Sigma methodologies to drive operational excellence.
4. Transition plants to 24 / 7 operations, meeting the target of 96% capacity utilization.
5. Executive Team Management :
Directly manage key leadership positions, including CFO, Shared Services Director, Operations Director, and Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).
6. Support the Operations Director, who oversees plant managers across multiple sites, including a new plant currently under construction.
7. Change Management and Leadership :
Lead cultural and operational change to align the organization with its growth and efficiency goals.
8. Foster collaboration and engagement across diverse teams and geographies.
9. Own the company’s P&L and ensure financial targets are met or exceeded.
10. Collaborate with the CFO to maintain strong financial controls and optimize profitability.
11. Engineering and Technical Expertise :
Leverage an engineering background to guide technical decision-making and support innovation in processes and technology.
12. Stakeholder Engagement :
Act as the primary liaison with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with broader organizational priorities.
13. Build strong relationships with external stakeholders, including regulators, partners, and suppliers.
14. Driving a major capacity increase while maintaining operational stability.
15. Leading cultural and operational change in a diverse, multi-site environment.
16. Scaling operations efficiently as the new plant comes online.
Qualifications and Experience :
1. Education : Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or related field). Advanced degrees (MBA, MS) are a plus.
2. Industry Expertise : Minimum 10 years of senior leadership experience in the chemicals, or related industries.
3. Change Leadership : Demonstrated success in driving cultural and operational transformation.
4. Lean Sigma Expertise : Proven ability to implement Lean Sigma principles to enhance operational performance.
5. P&L Responsibility : Experience managing full P&L for a business or division.
6. Leadership : Strong track record of leading cross-functional teams and building high-performing organizations.
