The Senior Commercial Analyst role sits within the Commercial team at WiseEnergy. It is a broad commercial role focusing on the management of revenues, regulatory, and contractual issues for a portfolio of assets in Iberia, in which a commercial or contractual background with strong knowledge of PPA and revenue management within renewables would be highly advantageous.
It is a permanent, full-time role, starting as soon as possible and reporting to the Commercial Manager. The successful candidate will be either home based or under a flexible working arrangement from our Madrid offices.
The role will be focused on managing assets in our Iberian markets; however, it will also support the wider WiseEnergy portfolio of assets in other countries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Managing the different streams of revenue of each project such as market, PPAs, and bilateral contracts of Guarantees of Origin.
2. In coordination with the Finance team, preparation of project revenue budgets and forecasts as well as support the development of asset operating budgets.
3. Managing the regulatory interface and compliance requirements alongside our advisors, e.g. data submissions for project companies under management.
4. Responsible for budget follow-up and management, coordinating with the company's finance team the validation of costs and revenues.
5. Maintaining solar plant compliance with contractual requirements including drafting and issuing formal notices/communications, and if required, investigating non-compliance and resolution.
6. Managing project company contract renewals and tendering.
7. Managing insurance renewals and claims.
8. Managing property agreements, e.g. land leases, and relationships with landowners.
9. Supporting Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) compliance and delivery.
10. Supporting the company’s in-house ‘onboarding’ process for new sites with a specific focus on understanding contracts and working internally with WiseEnergy’s Finance and Technical teams to ensure a seamless transition into WiseEnergy; extraction of relevant information into the company’s bespoke contract management software; supporting the creation of respective Onboarding Report and Operating Plans; and smooth management throughout the life of each respective agreement.
11. Updating and continued development of the company’s in-house Asset Management Platform (AMP) software as required, working with Commercial teams in London, Milan, and Hyderabad as necessary and with the in-house Technology team.
12. Supporting annual Asset Operating Plans with relevant contract management information and reviews.
13. Reporting to the client and internally and externally as required.
14. Approving contractual invoices.
15. Ad hoc commercial projects.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
1. Minimum 3-4 years in a similar level role
2. Bachelors’ degree minimum
3. Regulatory, property and contract knowledge and experience
4. Spanish speaker and fluent in English. Portuguese language skill also advantageous
5. Advanced standard MS Office suite, notably Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
6. Strong organisational, change management and business process skills
