Mission and Responsibilities:
We are looking for a professional currently part of a retail credit department specializing in credit cards or personal loans, both in admissions and portfolio management. Based in Frankfurt (Germany) in Openbank's credit risk team, you will support, from a risk perspective, the launch of new risk products in the Openbank German Branch, monitor portfolio performance, and ensure that the business is on target for profitability and performance. Members of the Risk team are involved firsthand in new business initiatives, improvements to the current business, or adapting the business to regulatory and legal changes.
We are looking for a Risk Branch Manager who specializes in managing retail credit portfolios and has a 360-degree view of the product. An expert in defining intake processes and making data-driven decisions that balance business needs with risk-adjusted profitability. Someone who will lead initiatives for preventative and reactive actions towards any factors impacting credit performance and portfolio profitability. The main tasks of this position will be:
* Portfolio manager of the different retail credit portfolios of the Openbank German Branch.
* Define short- and long-term underwriting and enhancement policies based on portfolio and business requirements.
* Work with the Risk Modeling team to design, develop, and implement credit risk models for admission, fraud prevention, and active limits management.
* Monitor German Branch risk appetite.
* Maintain key policies, procedures, and controls applied to the German Branch.
* Collaboration with key stakeholders in project development.
* Efficient intake processes and portfolio performance by controlling risk assumption.
* Detect new risks (financial and non-financial) that may affect the German Branch and define and implement action plans.
What are we looking for in this position?
* 6 to 8 years of experience in retail credit management.
* A bachelor's degree in a quantitative/analytical field, such as engineering, statistics, math, economics, or management.
* Knowledge of European credit regulations.
* Knowledge of IFRS9 credit provisions.
* Analytical skills on main profitability and risk KPIs (cost of credit, VMG, NPL, PD/LGD).
* SQL capabilities.
* Knowledge of SQL, R, Python, and/or other data analysis tools.
* Experience in the European credit market.
* Understanding of credit scoring and behavioral scoring models, especially for credit products portfolios.
* Experience with visualization tools (Quicksight, PowerBI, etc.).
* German native and a very good command of the English language, willing to work in an international environment.
