The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing logistics operations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods. The role involves managing supply chain processes, optimizing logistics performance, and collaborating with various teams to achieve company goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency.
* Coordinate the transportation, warehousing, and distribution of goods.
* Monitor inventory levels and ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained.
* Oversee the flow of goods from suppliers to warehouses and customers.
* Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers, suppliers, and vendors.
* Maintain relationships with external logistics providers to ensure quality service.
* Monitor and control logistics costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
* Lead and manage logistics staff, including training and performance evaluation.
* Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics operations.
* Prepare regular reports on logistics performance and present findings to senior management.
Job Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Certification in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
* Proven experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (typically 3-5+ years).
* Knowledge of inventory management software, ERP systems, or transportation management systems (TMS).
* Familiarity with logistics and supply chain management principles and practices.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including customs clearance and transportation compliance.
