FX Digital is a specialist front-end Connected TV agency, providing a wide range of services, including Product Strategy, Design, Engineering, and Testing. We partner with global streaming brands such as Discovery+, BritBox, ATP Media, ITV, and Dyn. As a Senior Front-End Developer at FX Digital, you take a leading role in shaping the technical direction of our Connected TV projects. With your deep experience in JavaScript and web technologies, you will architect technical solutions, mentor team members, and provide strategic advice on complex projects. Collaborating with the Heads of Engineering and Technology, you will also play a key role in client interactions, proposing solutions to meet business needs.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with the Heads of Engineering and Technology to propose and implement technical solutions for CTV applications.
* Provide technical guidance and inspiration to the development team, ensuring high coding standards.
* Lead code reviews, offering feedback to improve code quality and ensuring adherence to best practices.
* Act as a technical advisor in client meetings, presenting solutions and advising on architectural decisions.
* Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to present technical solutions to prospective clients.
* Stay current with industry developments by attending relevant events and training to maintain cutting-edge skills.
* Contribute to internal processes by recommending tools and technologies that improve development efficiency and quality.
Minimum Requirements
* 5+ years of professional experience in front-end development, particularly with complex web applications.
* Expert-level JavaScript skills, including familiarity with TypeScript.
* Deep understanding of Git version control and workflows.
* Extensive experience with RESTful APIs, unit testing frameworks (e.g., Jest), and debugging tools.
* Solid grasp of web architecture, including APIs, transfer protocols, and browser internals.
* Proficiency with CLI tools (e.g., yarn, npm) and some familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
* Strong leadership, time-management, and communication skills.
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Experience with video/audio player implementations (e.g., hls.js) and familiarity with DRM and subtitles.
* Experience with WebGL, RxJS, and stream-based programming.
