BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT LEAD – DOCUMENT SECURITY SOLUTIONS (DoSS)
based in Spain, covering Spain and Portugal
MISSION
The Business Development Lead – Document Security Solutions is responsible for driving growth and expanding SICPA’s commercial presence in the document security industry, working with national & private security printers, government entities, and regulatory bodies both in Spain and Portugal.
This role involves identifying new business opportunities, managing relationships with key stakeholders, and securing high-value contracts for secure document solutions, including passports, ID cards, value documents and other high-security documents.
The position reports to the local General Manager, with a dotted line to the Head of the DoSS market segment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop and implement a business development strategy tailored to the needs of governments and national & private security printers for secure document solutions.
* Identify and qualify new business opportunities, promoting SICPA’s security features and technologies.
* Negotiate and secure commercial agreements with government agencies and security printers to ensure the adoption of SICPA’s document security solutions.
* Build and maintain relationships with key government decision-makers, ministries, and security printing agencies to drive long-term partnerships.
* Monitor market trends and regulatory developments in secure document issuance, authentication technologies, and counterfeiting threats.
* Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and solution presentations to tender responses and contract negotiations.
* Work closely with internal teams (product, R&D, marketing, operations) to ensure solutions meet government and regulatory requirements.
* Monitor sales performance and provide regular reports on market conditions and business opportunities.
* Ensure full compliance with government procurement processes, international regulations, and ethical standards.
* Represent SICPA at industry events, conferences, and government forums.
PROFILE
* University degree in Business Administration, Engineering or any related field
* 5-10 years’ experience in similar role within Business Development, Sales or Government relations preferably in the security printing or authentication solutions industry.
* Deep understanding of security printing mainly for passports, ID cards and other official documents.
* Customer focus, results oriented, good communication skills, ability to work in a matrix environment and used to work with high technical products and very competitive market
* Strong network with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and security printers would be a plus.
* Ability to navigate decision-making processes and manage multiple stakeholders.
* Solid project management and negotiation skills.
* Strong IT skills, especially in CRM such as SalesForce or others
* Fluent in Spanish and English, Portuguese is a plus.
