The Sales Account Manager for Business Development (100% hunting) is responsible for developing new business relationships, specifically with clients in the clinical & pharma sector, and serving as the first level of support to prospective clients. The role will be 100% hunting, which involves the full sales cycle from prospection to onboarding of new clients, but not the ongoing account management of these accounts.
The successful candidate will join TransPerfect´s Trial Interactive division.
Position responsibilities:
* Develop an effective understanding of the capability, benefits and competitive advantages of TransPerfect’s services.
* Identify prospective customers and individual organizations to focus on sales activities.
* Develop new client relationships via cold calling, internet, and trade shows.
* In coordination with Sales Management, identify, qualify, develop and close sales opportunities.
* Promote and educate clients regarding TransPerfect’s services.
* Provide customer support and manage client expectations in liaison with the Production team.
* Manage and control pricing and contractual issues by developing a thorough understanding of company procedures.
* Cross-sell and upsell various services and solutions within the client´s company to optimize account profitability.
* Take an active role in learning about each client’s industry, business needs and company culture to identify new business opportunities and provide a high level of service.
* Perform other special projects or duties when required.
* Perform any other special tasks as assigned by the manager/supervisor.
Essential skills and experience required:
* Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent.
* Native level of German.
* Superior written and spoken communication skills in English.
* Previous Sales experience (1 year).
* Ability to build and maintain relationships.
* Motivated with a proactive attitude.
* Results-driven, ability to work independently and take ownership.
* Good analytical skills needed to project revenues, monitor budgets and other necessary calculations.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Interest in Strategic Business Development as a long-term career path.
* Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, work well with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, build strategic relationships with clients and co-workers, work as part of a team, take active measures to solve problems, and commit to a high level of service.
Desired skills and experience:
* Professional experience working within a corporate role for clients in the pharma sector.
* Sales experience specifically in hunting for new business.
* Experience managing the full sales cycle from prospection to closing deals.
* Professional working proficiency in Italian is a huge plus; additional languages are also highly valued.
