HEAD OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT R&D SERVICES
A major public/private Spanish institution, whose main expertise is in early human drug discovery from microbial natural product libraries and in-house high throughput screening (HTS) - with numerous compounds already on the market - is looking for a very experienced BD Head with solid experience in selling services to R&D departments to drive the sales of its services. Over 95% of revenues are generated in international markets. This position may be offsite.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop new accounts and manage current accounts.
2. Optimize current go-to-market strategy.
3. Perform consultative selling, including all marketing and commercial tasks such as market prospecting, company presentation, proposal preparation and presentation, and contract signing.
4. Prepare and implement the annual sales budget and commercial terms and strategy for each account.
5. Retention of existing customers and expansion of customer base.
6. Represent the company in relevant national and international meetings.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
1. University degree in Life Sciences.
2. Minimum 10 years of sales experience in the human pharmaceutical research market.
3. Relevant deal sheet and network in the early drug discovery market.
4. International sales experience.
5. Fluency in English required; Spanish will be valued.
6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
7. Willingness to travel as required.
