Title: Innovation Business Development Manager
Department: Innovation and Technology transfer
Job Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development and Innovation Manager (B2B) to join our Innovation and Technology transfer department. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business development activities, fostering innovation, managing strategic partnerships, and contributing to the business strategy. This role involves international travel and requires a strong background in developing R&D project proposals, particularly those focused on proof-of-concept, go-to market, and impact-driven initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Identify and pursue new business opportunities that align with the department's strategic goals.
2. Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including industry partners, academic institutions, the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and government agencies.
3. Lead and cooperate in the negotiation, elaboration, and closing of commercial deals and develop competitive project proposals from various financing mechanisms (public and private).
4. Monitor market trends and emerging innovations to identify potential areas for project collaboration.
5. Drive the sale of consulting services (B2B) focused on IP management, technology transfer, exploitation of R&D results, entrepreneurship support activities, and go-to market innovation projects development (training, execution, and support services).
6. Maintain a high standard of documentation and reporting throughout the proposal development process and at the services portfolio level.
7. Participate in the refinement of the business strategy and contribute to the commercialization of internal and external products and services by providing strategic guidance.
8. Represent the organization at international conferences, workshops, and meetings to promote capacities and establish and maintain partnerships with international organizations.
9. Collaborate with several partners to define project goals and deliverables to ensure the alignment of innovation activities with the organizational goals.
Qualifications:
1. STEM Bachelor's Degree. PhD, MBA, or RTTP certification will be considered advantageous.
2. Master's Degree in Innovation Management, Technology Transfer, or a related field will be valuable.
3. Experience in R&D and entrepreneurs consulting services (Tech commercialization and licensing, Innovation strategies, Tech scouting, IP portfolios management, Investment analysis, Technological Surveillance, and Competitive Intelligence).
4. Knowledge about public R&D&I tenders and programs (national and EU level: Proof of concept proposals, EIC, I3, Innovation Fund, EIE, EIT...) and private opportunities application for startups.
5. Familiarity with the regional innovation ecosystem is a plus.
6. Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English (C1 equivalent), additional languages will be advantageous.
7. Strong knowledge of the regional innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem is highly desirable.
