About the role
As the Director of Ecommerce and Performance Marketing, you will be responsible for the commercial strategy and delivery of the revenue targets for Sercotel Hotels, through driving direct digital sales and optimising the ecommerce experience.
You will ultimately be accountable for hotels hitting their brand.com & revenue targets and success. The main goal in this role is to deliver brand.com budgeted channel share.
You will be responsible for direct sales and collaborating with a multi-stakeholder team with product, revenue, data, and property teams to implement initiatives that increase direct bookings and improve the overall user experience on the brand website.
This role focuses on commercial acumen, senior multi-stakeholder collaboration, operational execution, digital marketing, and revenue management to ensure our digital platforms meet business objectives.
Key responsibilities
1. Deliver commercial targets: Own an e-commerce plan with monthly revenue targets and metrics that align with the overall brand channel strategy. Analyse performance on a monthly basis with clear action plans where needed, reporting to the Head of Digital and participating in monthly Business Performance Reviews with the wider business.
2. Drive Website Performance: Build a conversion rate optimisation plan to deliver benchmark KPI’s across the entire website and booking journey – looking at both content and product optimisation features. Collaborate with product, revenue, and indirect sales teams to gather insights and ensure alignment on the plan.
3. Collaborate on Product Enhancements: Work closely with the development team to ensure that product development aligns with commercial objectives. Support the prioritisation of website features that drive direct bookings, enhance user engagement, and improve the effectiveness of the brand website.
4. Lead Acquisition Marketing: Manage the acquisition marketing team (internal FTEs and external agencies), driving the strategy of paid campaigns for the Brand, developing digital marketing campaigns that effectively drive traffic and convert into direct bookings.
5. Manage Paid Media & ROI: Optimise paid media investment by focusing on budget efficiency and ROI. Collaborate with Brand and SEO teams on driving efficiency and synergies across marketing channels and actions to increase revenue and profitability.
6. Commercial Initiatives: Develop exclusive offers, content, and customer journey optimisation to deliver direct sales initiatives on the brand website. Monitor pricing structures to ensure competitiveness with third-party sales channels.
7. Budget Management: Own the day-to-day planning and delivery of the performance marketing budget. Drive efficacy and efficiency over all marketing investments.
8. Reporting ownership: Build and manage performance and ecommerce related reporting suite. Dig into agency reports ensuring alignment with internal goals and strategy.
Requirements
1. Proven track record of delivering commercial performance with the ability to contribute to the growth of direct bookings, reduce reliance on OTAs, and ultimately increase online revenue.
2. Ability to work in a fast-evolving, high-pressure commercial environment, delivering against tight deadlines.
3. Experience in working with and influencing senior stakeholders and being able to drive business change and focus.
4. Experience in collaborating with revenue management teams to align digital marketing and e-commerce efforts with pricing strategies and promotions.
5. Experience in e-commerce management, with an understanding of digital product development, user experience, and revenue optimisation.
6. Minimum 5 years managing digital marketing, including performance marketing, paid media, SEO, and ROI optimisation. Proven experience supporting successful marketing campaigns.
7. Proven track record managing above 200k€ /month performance marketing investment.
8. Highly analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision making. Familiarity with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, CRM, and marketing platforms to track and optimise performance. Excel proficiency required.
9. Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working across senior cross-functional teams.
10. Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the team, aligning them with our vision and encouraging extreme ownership.
11. Experience with A/B testing, conversion rate optimisation (CRO), and applying experimentation methods to improve digital performance.
12. Previous experience in Ecommerce (B2C) or Travel brands strongly preferred.
13. Proficiency level of English and Spanish.
