Regional Financial Controller (SE)
We are currently seeking a Regional Financial Controller to oversee financial operations, compliance and cost control within the South-East Europe regions (Iberia, Germany, East Europe). You will be required to prepare accurate financial reports, assess risks and implement mitigation strategies. As a Regional Controller, you will define and monitor accounting and operational performance indicators, provide financial insights and lead a team of professionals. You will ensure compliance with regulations and policies, communicate financial results and collaborate to meet operational goals. You will play a vital role in maintaining financial integrity and driving excellence in the region.
Your Job
* Oversee preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for respective region. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements (Stat, SOX, Tax, Treasury, & other central functions).
* Monitor and control costs within their respective region. Identify cost-savings opportunities and implement cost reduction initiatives.
* Assess financial risks within the region and implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with internal controls and policies.
* Work with Finance team to define key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the region’s financial performance.
* Develop & monitor accounting KPIs to measure accounting operational performance. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
* Collaborate with finance leads to support financial insights and decision-making. Act as a trusted advisor on accounting matters.
* Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and processes within the region.
* Lead and manage a team of accounting professionals within the region. Provide guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure high performance and employee engagement.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and audit requirements. Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and address any findings.
* Communicate financial results and insights to senior management, stakeholders, and other relevant parties.
* Collaborate with delivery departments regional leads and SSC to ensure operational goals are met / exceeded and to drive improvement initiatives.
Your Profile
* Degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance.
* CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent certification preferred.
* Minimum of 8-10 years of cumulative experience in accounting role, with at least 4 years in a managerial capacity.
* Proficiency in utilizing the D365 system is a plus.
* Fully qualified accountant with proficiency in country-specific GAAP as well as US GAAP.
* Advanced level knowledge of Excel.
* Strong analytical and numeracy skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to assimilate and summarise financial information in an appropriate context.
* Strategic and commercial acumen, as well as the ability and willingness to be hands-on.
* Excellent people skills, with experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, dynamic team.
* Experience in working with Shared Service Centre as well as a matrixed organisation.
* Demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting.
* Experience should include legal, audit, compliance, budget, and resource development.
* Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding regional investment in people and systems.
* Proven effectiveness leading professionals in finance and accounting.
* Experience managing a team in different locations is desirable.
* Technologically savvy, with an ability to point to examples of having worked with IT staff to develop and implement new processes and systems that increased efficiency in a fast-moving environment.
* Willingness to travel (up to 30%).
