Order Engineering Department Responsibilities:
The Order Engineering department is responsible for fulfilling the engineering requirements when an order is received, and customizing the design to fulfill customer needs, including:
1. Hydraulic review to adapt existing products to customer needs
2. Review of technical specifications and other technical documentation in the purchase order and quotation, to define the modifications needed to the product to fulfill order requirements
3. Creation of Customer required drawings (General Arrangement drawing, Cross Sectional drawing, P&ID, etc.) to integrate Flowserve equipment in customer installations
4. Creation of technical specifications of Buy-Outs (motors, couplings, mechanical seals, variable speed couplings, lube oil systems, filters, special valves, etc.)
5. Definition and execution of the mechanical design of the equipment
6. Creation of Pump Layout drawings
7. Performing the Design Review
8. Creation of detail Manufacturing Drawings according to Flowserve and Product guidelines and standards, for both pump and systems
9. Creation of Bill of Materials
10. Creation of contractual Technical Documentation for customer information, customer comments, or approval
11. Technical support to quotations related to pump and systems
12. Support to Supply Chain, Quality and Manufacturing during the execution of the order
13. Support during the commissioning and warranty period of the equipment
Applied Product & System Engineer Responsibilities:
The Applied Product & System Engineer is part of the Order Engineering department and has the following responsibilities:
1. Design the equipment following Flowserve standards and customer specifications
2. Hydraulic review
3. Review of technical specifications and other technical documentation
4. Creation and transmission of design instructions to Design Engineers in charge of creating the drawings
5. Technical coordination of engineering roles assigned to the order
6. Creation of technical specifications of Buy-Outs
7. Creation of contractual Technical Documentation (other than drawings)
8. Technical support to quotations
9. Support to Supply Chain, Quality and Manufacturing
10. Support during the commissioning and warranty period
Required Qualifications:
1. A Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
2. Experience with Turbomachinery (2 years minimum)
3. Advanced knowledge of Ms Excel, and ability to leverage computer tools for efficiency
4. Fluent in English and Spanish in both verbal and written communication; other languages are a plus
5. Good interpersonal and communication skills
6. Acting as a team player; persistent, creative, and service-oriented mentality are also important skills
7. Readiness to travel internationally approximately 10%
Desirable Qualifications:
1. ERP (Oracle) knowledge
2. Continuous improvement skills (Lean)
3. Risk Assessment experience in a technical background
4. Customer-oriented, experience in front of customers to solve technical issues
