The Engineering Support team is dedicated to providing comprehensive production engineering support and developing effective support tools for our Mobile (Trusted Connectivity) business unit.
Reporting to the Solutions Support Manager based in Madrid, your primary responsibilities will include troubleshooting issues, monitoring services, and constructing essential tools, collaborating closely with development teams and product release teams, to ensure seamless coordination of device and software fixes, as well as smooth deployment processes.
Key Job Responsibilities.
* Provide support and perform troubleshooting tasks, covering multiple products, features, and production services.
* Work on operations and maintenance of solutions developed using Python, Java, Perl, Shell, and Web technologies.
* Software deployment support in staging and production environments
* Develop tools to improve operations and maintenance
* System and Support status BI reporting using Big Data tools.
* Ownership of one or more digital products or components
* Customer notification and workflow coordination with follow-up to maintain service level agreements
* Work with a global support team for handing-off or taking overactive support issues and creating a team specific knowledge.
* Provide on-premises support, as well as on call on duty shift.
If you want this position to be yours, we would like you to have the following:
* Graduated in Computing Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications or related fields.
* Advanced level of English (spoken and written)
* Some proven experience working for Telco companies will be a plus.
* Minimum 3 years of Linux/Unix experience required, with a preference for Red Hat Linux.
* Proficiency in shell programming.
* Proficiency in writing intermediate-level SQL queries.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Suite, internet navigators, and programming skills.
* Mandatory experience in database and SQL concepts, with advantageous knowledge of PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
* Thorough understanding of TCP/IP and proficiency in using tracing tools to analyze protocol messages.
* Experience in JBOSS web server.
* Understanding of integration protocols like SOAP, XML, and HTTP POST/GET, web services, workflow modeling, and web application development.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team and to maintain composure and perform effectively under stressful conditions.
* Demonstrated ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Willingness and availability to travel globally as required.
* Demonstrated dedication to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Desirable skills and knowledge:
* Understanding of networking (switches, firewalls and routers) are desired
* Knowledge and experience in SMPP connections would be beneficial.
* Knowledge and understanding of networking principles and Java-based technologies.
* Familiarity with high availability techniques including load balancing, clustering, redundancy, and fail-over.
* Familiarity with AWS services and their operations (SysOps AWS)
