As a Rigging Artist, you will work closely with a variety of departments including R&D, Art, Modelling, Layout, and Animation, to develop, implement, maintain, and support character and prop deformation rigs for use by the Crowds, Layout, and Animation teams.
Responsibilities
1. Develops and maintains procedural rig components with a specific focus on deformation, using custom tools.
2. Follows a brief to produce complex production-ready rig deformations.
3. Works with Animators to aid with deformation rigs to provide a broad range of motion.
4. Supports rigs as they move through the pipeline and provides additional deformation fixes as needed.
5. Responsible for building body, facial, and mechanical rig systems to be used by other departments, such as Crowds, Animation, and Layout.
6. Troubleshoots and fixes rig issues.
7. Collects artistic feedback and fine-tunes rig behavior.
8. Works within the pipeline and rigging standards.
9. Keeps up on current artistic methodologies and technology trends and tools that best suit the production and the company in the development of a stronger creative and technical environment.
10. Delivers on time following Production quality standards.
11. Collaborates with other team members, when necessary.
12. Follows the Supervisor's, Lead's, and Senior's guidance and support.
Requirements
1. 3-5 years in VFX or animation industries.
2. 1 year in the animation industry is desirable.
3. Strong artistic and technical rigging skills.
4. Experience within a character pipeline.
5. Experience using Maya in a production environment.
6. Familiarity with sculpting tools in Body, Face, and Shot-Finaling.
7. Solid understanding of the principles of animation.
8. Anatomical knowledge of facial muscles and their kinematics functions.
9. Basic Python scripting knowledge following coding standards.
10. Knowledge of artistic modeling and anatomy tools.
11. High English level.
12. Spanish desirable.
