Tether is seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Regulatory Affairs to design and execute global regulatory strategies for our Tether Data business vertical. Our mission is to innovate and lead in the creation of technological solutions that empower people, communities, cities, and countries. What you’ll do
1. Policy Monitoring, Analysis and Guidance: Monitor, analyze, and communicate changes in global regulatory policies, and advise executive leadership on potential regulatory risks and opportunities.
2. Regulatory Advocacy and Thought Leadership: Lead or participate in regulatory agency interactions and advocacy work regarding legislation relevant to this field.
3. Regulatory Strategy Development: Lead the development and execution of regulatory strategies, identifying preferable markets for compliance.
4. Cross-functional Leadership and Product Development: Collaborate with internal teams to integrate regulatory considerations into the design and deployment of AI models and technologies.
5. Thought Leadership: Act as a thought leader, educating internal teams on regulatory issues, trends, and best practices in the AI and P2P space.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience in a senior regulatory role, ideally within the technology, AI, or digital industries.
2. Strong knowledge of global AI regulations, data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR), and emerging trends in AI and P2P governance.
3. Track record of successfully engaging with regulators and policymakers.
4. Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge in frontier/alternative markets such as Latin America.
5. Expertise in preparing complex regulatory documents and submissions.
6. Communication: Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. Must be a strong team player, willing to engage with key stakeholders.
8. Legal, compliance, or policy background with a deep understanding of ethical AI principles is a plus.
9. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Policy, Computer Science, or related fields.
Additional Skills:
1. Fluency in a second language is a plus, notably Spanish.
2. Experience working in smaller/startup companies is highly desirable.
3. A technical background, ideally with experience in computer science or related fields.
