Position Purpose
We are looking for a Financial Controller to lead the economic and financial control of the Spanish subsidiary company. The main mission will be to structure and supervise local financial processes, ensure rigorous reporting (both local and group level), and act as a financial sparring partner to the local CEO.
In the medium term, the role may also include financial coordination of our subsidiaries in Portugal and France.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervision of financial control of the Spanish subsidiary (Barcelona).
* Preparation of monthly financial reports in accordance with local regulations and group standards (currently German GAAP).
* Coordination with external accounting advisors.
* Oversight of the billing cycle, collections, and accounts receivable follow-up.
* Cash flow planning and forecasting.
* Coordination of bank guarantees linked to projects.
* Profitability analysis by project and identification of margin deviations.
* Support to the CEO in financial and strategic decision-making.
* Ensure tax compliance and prepare documentation for audits.
* Potential expansion of the role to include financial oversight of subsidiaries in Portugal and France.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Mandatory Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or similar. Additional training in controlling, IFRS, or project financial management will be a plus.
* Solid previous experience in an audit, consultant or tax firm.
* Subsequent experience in an industrial or project-based company (ideally EPC or construction).
* Strong knowledge of financial accounting and management control.
* Ability to work with external advisors.
* Experience in monthly reporting and financial KPI tracking.
* High level of autonomy, proactivity, and attention to detail.
* Ability to influence and collaborate strategically with the CEO.
* Languages: fluent Spanish and English
Valuable Assets:
* Knowledge of German GAAP or IFRS.
* Experience in the photovoltaic, renewable energy, or construction sectors.
* French and/or German language skills.
* Familiarity with financial management tools (SAGE 50, LucaNet, or other ERPs).
* Experience in multinational or matrix environments.
* Knowledge of bank guarantee management.
* Additional training in controlling or project financial analysis.
