JOB PURPOSE
The European IT Infrastructure Network’s role is to monitor and maintain the WAN, LAN, and Wi-Fi networks of an organisation. They may install and configure networks, computer systems, diagnose hardware/software faults, and solve technical and applications problems, end-user support, troubleshoot, help with training, support, and administer production infrastructure. Supporting users and the business and group with issues, projects, and installations. Daily operations and providing support to users in multiple locations either over the phone or in person.
Travel to other sites will be required.
DIMENSIONS
EMEA Network technical support specialists are mainly responsible for the smooth running of computer networks and ensuring users get maximum benefits from them. Individual tasks may vary but are not limited to:
* Installing and configuring network hardware
* Supporting and undertaking the roll-out of new infrastructure.
* Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks.
* Talking staff/clients through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues.
* Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults.
* Replacing parts as required.
* Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports.
* Following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system.
* Responding within agreed time limits to call-outs.
* Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate).
* Prioritizing and managing many open cases at one time.
* Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, e.G., Business Development.
* Testing and evaluating new technology.
KEY RESULT AREAS
* Administrate switch infrastructure.
* Administrate wi-fi infrastructure
* Administrate Wide Area Network infrastructure
* Ensure that changes and upgrades are completed to the procedure including change requests and following approval processes.
* Ability to Provide a high-quality standard of work to time scales pre-defined within a service level agreement.
* Support other teams and team members within the EMEA region to support daily operations and project work.
* Create and maintain network documentation for the supported region and make sure it is up to date.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
* Detailed networking experience, routing, VLANs, switching, WIFI etc.
* Cisco Qualified - CCNA, CCNP
* Minimum of 3 years experience with Cisco Networks, Switches and Routers
* Significant experience in Network deployments and upgrades.
* Experience with Cisco / Viptela SD-WAN solution, setup and deployment
* Experience of Meraki Wi-Fi, setup and deployments
* Knowledge of Cisco DNA and other Cisco Solutions.
* Experience with desktop operating systems including Windows OS,
* Desirable to have Zscaler knowledge.
* Experience of Server Infrastructure, Azure and cloud technologies
* Experience ITIL ticketing systems and ServiceNow
* Knowledge about Office and Office365
* User management and Active Directory, DNS and DHCP.
* Managing File and Print servers, application servers and production systems
* Extensive application support experience.
* Working knowledge of SolarWinds or similar.
