A vacancy has arisen in the lines of our Commodity Managers within strategic procurement, which is a vital part of the procurement and supply chain community. You will join the Flight Controls Commodity for all ADS platforms, which will give you a unique wide vision of the Airbus Defence & Space current and future business. You will work developing structural relationships with well-established worldwide suppliers and managing complex work packages.
One of the main responsibilities is to develop and execute a strategy for your sub-commodities, which will include a deep understanding of the market, technology evolution, tendering, negotiations, and long-term contract establishment with suppliers. As well as supplier analysis (supplier evaluation, supplier financial analysis, etc.), risk assessment and management, and make or buy business case, etc. You will develop a solid working knowledge of certain commodity trends including cost drivers, global pricing, market and industry trends and material lead times to maintain availability of cost-effective supplies of materials, equipment, and services.
You will coordinate all activities within the Multifunctional Teams - MFT of your domain (with members from different functions like e.g. Engineering, Finance, PMO, Quality, etc.) to safeguard the successful management of your sub-commodity, securing our lines and enabling value for money proposals for our platforms. With your work, you will contribute to the profitability of our company and to the expansion of our successful projects and related services, which is a vital part of Airbus Defence and Space growth strategy.
Commodity management requires a strategic and robust plan to ensure that both value and risk are managed correctly, and innovation is encouraged. The role of a commodity manager is very complex and it has to be undertaken by someone who is capable of understanding markets, the supply chain, and how the business works.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
* Establish, implement & monitor a Commodity strategy for your perimeter
* Manage supplier relationships and supplier related development programs
* Lead the (Sub-) Commodity Multi-Functional Team
* Lead and drive to conclusion bids, tenders and supplier selection processes
* Lead and contribute to Procurement/Value Creation projects & initiatives that aim at delivering synergies and savings
* Lead negotiations with suppliers to assure program expectations are met
* Set-up, negotiate & manage contractual agreements with suppliers, including negotiations for existing contracts & negotiation of new supplier contracts
* Lead Supplier Evaluation Development (SED) and Vendor Management & define action plans to develop strategic suppliers.
Requirements:
* Degree in Engineering, Business Management or equivalent
* At least 5 years of experience in activities which have allowed you to acquire sound skills and knowledge of:
* Procurement
* Engineering
* Services
* Project/Program Management
1. Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to persuade, influence and convince
2. Experience of working in a matrix environment with proven record of successful stakeholder management
3. Able to anticipate, assess and mitigate risks
4. Excellent skills in relationship building, team building, empowering, motivating others and conflict management
5. Negotiation level of English
6. Knowledge of SAP would be an asset
